  • A True Convertible Driver - 2006 Toyota Camry Solara

This is my third different manufacturers convertible and it is by far my favorite. The room both inside the car and the trunk is excellent. I can carry 2 golf bags and a golf pull cart in the trunk even with the top down. It doesnt matter how tall the person in the drivers seat is. There is still plenty of leg room in the back. The DENSO navigation system is easy to use and extremely accurate. The drawbacks are 1) The boot is large and takes up alot of room in the trunk and therefore usually I leave it in the garage. 2)The seat heaters only have one setting. 3)The CD player only holds one disc if the car has a navagation system. 4)The passanger seat is not electric.

I have now owned my Solara convertible for all of two days. So far, this car has met or surpassed all of my expectations. I have never looked forward to driving so much. This car is just as luxurious as my Lexus RX300, but costs less and is much more fun to drive. Aside from a few minor quips...such as better rear visibility, more lockable compartments, and better illumination of the center controls, this car is a 10. I test drove the mid-range Saab and BMW convertibles and the Solara is just as nice -- and costs 10K less. If you are looking for a full size convertibe at a reasonable price that doesnt miss a beat (even with the top up) this is the car for you.

  • Great way to get out of the SUV world! - 2006 Toyota Camry Solara

I changed from an Expedition, this is the only way to make the switch from an SUV worth it. This car is completely fun to drive, great on gas and roomy enough for my two children and their booster seats.

  • Great value & lots of fun - 2006 Toyota Camry Solara

Have that the coupe for 2-weeks now. Long enough to confirm that I made a good decision- this car offers so much value and fun for the dollar. Compared to Nissan Altima, Honda Accord and VW Passat the Solara is more distinctive and has a more luxurious look and ride.

I have several smaller quality issues with this car. Door not sealing correctly/wind noise/radio-control knobs sticking/carpeting not secured in place/truck not staying closed/consol compartment not staying closed/etc. With the reputation of Toyota, I am disappointed.

  • Just love it! - 2006 Toyota Camry Solara
    By -

I just bought my Toyota Solara SE V6, and I am very pleased. I had a hard time finding a car that I wanted, and the more I drive it, the more I love it. The cabin is super quiet with little road, engine or wind noise. Makes those long drives very relaxing. I love having the extra power when I need it. If you buy a Camry, buy the V6, because I found the four cyl to be less responsive. Styling is beautiful! Great car, for a great price.

  • Absolute Elegance - 2006 Toyota Camry Solara

Car is luxurious both inside and out. Ride is very smooth and cushiony. Back seats are full sized and comfortable for passengers. Styling is beautiful and car has been extremely reliable so far. Automatic convertible room is a snap to open and close. Convertible boot (cover) is stylish although tedious to install. Gas mileage is good for such a large car - about 23 mpg average when doing city and highway driving combined. Acceleration is smooth and pick-up is more than adequate.

Quietest convertible that I have ever owned. Very low wind noise with the top up. Motor is very quiet, have to watch the tach sometimes to see if it is running. Top goes up and down easily.

I have 1100 miles on my new Solara and it is a dream to drive. Handles like a luxury car and performs likes a sports car. It is elegant, and has beautiful lines. I especially like the controls on the steering wheel, you never have to take your eyes off of the road. Makes the 140 mile daily commute pretty easy, lots of great comments on looks.

First the workmanship of this car is perfect. The telescopic steering wheel, the quality stereo system, heated seat, quiet smooth ride, easy operated convertible top to the stylish body makes this a perfect quality car. You cannot even hear this car running.
